Scope: This standard introduces the statistical analysis method of fatigue test design and result data. The aim is to determine the fatigue properties of metallic materials with a high degree of confidence and number of samples. This standard is limited to the analysis of fatigue data for materials exhibiting homogeneous properties due to a single fatigue failure mechanism. The statistical properties of the test results referred to in this standard are closely related to the material properties under the test conditions.
