In order to provide a uniform basis for measuring performance as described in 1.2, standardized test carpets and standardized test dirt are employed in this procedure.
The results reflect a non-loaded cleaning capability and may not be representative of cleaning capabilities under dirt loading conditions.

1.3 This test method applies only to embedded dirt removal from carpets, not the removal of surface litter and debris.
