- This standard specifies the gas chromatography method for the determination of three polybasic acids (oxalic acid, malic acid and citric acid) in tobacco and tobacco products. This standard is applicable to the determination of three polybasic acids (oxalic acid, malic acid and citric acid) in tobacco and tobacco products. In this method, the quantitative limit of oxalic acid, malic acid, and citric acid in tobacco and tobacco products is 0.11 mg/g, 0.47 mg/g, and 0.11 mg/g, respectively.
