Scope
This standard describes how to determine the sensitivity of test methods for typical physical and chemical properties of rubber and rubber products. It is also applicable to test methods for the properties of carbon black fillers. Test sensitivity is defined as the ratio of the discriminative power of the test method to the basic property being measured to the measurement error expressed as the standard deviation, often described as the "signal-to-noise ratio". This standard does not discuss the sensitivity of the threshold (minimum) detection limit in trace analysis.
