This part of SANS 10198 covers current ratings for the following types of cables installed under stipulated standard conditions: a) 600/1 000 V two-core, three-core or four-core extruded solid dielectric-insulated armoured cables; b) 1,9/3,3 kV three-core extruded solid dielectric-insulated armoured cables; c) 1,9/3,3 kV to 19/33 kV three-core impregnated-paper-insulated cables either lead/lead-alloy covered and armoured or corrugated seamless aluminum sheathed; d) 3,8/6,6 kVto 19/33 kV three-core cross-linked polyethylene-insulated armoured cables; and e) 600/1 000 V to 19/33 kV cross-linked polyethylene-insulated aerial bundled conductor cables. 2 Rating factors for deviations from standard conditions of installation are tabulated and, in addition, short-circuit ratings for symmetrical and earth faults are given. NOTE Where other types of cable (e.g. single-core or unarmoured) are involved or where conditions of installation are unusual, reference should be made to the manufacturer of the cables to establish ratings.
