Scope

This part specifies the test method for the indentation hardness (Shore hardness) of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber using the following scale: 　——A scale, suitable for ordinary hardness range, the durometer using A scale is called Shore A type hardness tester; 　——D scale, suitable for high hardness range, the durometer using D scale is called Shore D type hardness tester; 　——AO scale, suitable for low hardness rubber and sponge, the durometer using AO scale is called Shore A0 type hardness tester; 　——AM scale is suitable for thin samples in the ordinary hardness range. Hardness testers using AM scale are called Shore AM type hardness testers.
