Scope: This standard specifies the general method for contact pulse reflection ultrasonic surface wave testing to detect surface imperfections. This standard is applicable to the detection of workpieces with a surface roughness less than Ra=3.2μm and a thickness greater than 10mm, and the radius of curvature of cylindrical workpieces for circumferential detection is not less than 80mm.
