Scope
This standard specifies the determination method of aluminum ions in industrial circulating cooling water by atomic absorption spectrometry. Flame atomic absorption spectrometry in this standard is suitable for the determination of aluminum content in industrial circulating cooling water within the range of 5 mg/L to 100 mg/L; graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry is suitable for the determination of aluminum content in industrial circulating cooling water of 10 μg/L For assays in the ~100 µg/L range, the sample volume is 20 µL. Higher concentrations can be assayed by appropriate dilution of the sample or smaller sample volumes. This standard also applies to the determination of aluminum ions in water and waste water.
