- This standard specifies quantitative measurement and subjective observation methods for characterizing the flame retardancy of protective clothing in a simulated flashover environment with controllable heat flux, flame distribution and duration. This standard is applicable to the test and evaluation of the flame retardant performance of protective clothing, and can also be used to predict the degree of burns on human tissues and the total area of burns.
