This standard specifies the rules for the formation of codes and names used to identify signals and signal connection lines, including the codes of power supply circuits. This standard applies to various types of signals in industrial systems, installations and equipment. This standard does not apply to the marking of wiring, terminals, and other connecting hardware. This standard does not specify rules for the graphical/physical representation of signals on devices and the graphical representation of signals in documentation.
