- Scope
- This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and model nomenclature, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation and storage of household and similar evaporative cooling fans (hereinafter referred to as "cooling fans"). This standard applies to single-phase appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V and other appliances with a rated voltage not exceeding 480 V, cooling fans used in households and similar places to cool air through the principle of water evaporation and heat absorption. This standard does not apply to: - cooling fans designed for industrial use; - cooling fans intended to be used in special environments where corrosive or explosive gases (such as dust, steam or gas gases) are often generated.
