Scope: This part of GB/T 4854 specifies the reference zero level of the pure tone air conduction audiometer hearing threshold scale. The information described in this part is the response of two different types of standard earphones measured in a coupling chamber that complies with GB/T 7342, and the other (specified in 4.3) measured on an artificial ear that complies with GB/T 7614. The response of the model on-ear headphones can be used directly for audiometer calibration. This standard is based on estimates from various laboratories and scientific publications responsible for the standardization of audiometry. See Appendix A for the derivation and application of the benchmark levels recommended in this section.
