- This standard specifies the method for the determination of the acidity of oil in oilseeds, and the results are expressed in acid value or acidity. The acidity depends on the oil obtained in the general product (pure seed and foreign matter); if desired, the oil obtained from pure seed or foreign matter can also be analyzed separately. This standard is not applicable to the determination of the acidity of oils in velvet cottonseed, oil palm and oleocanthal.
