This Standard specifies the test method for Vicat softening temperature of thermo-
plastics pipes and fittings (hereafter, referred to as "pipes and fittings").
This test method is applicable to thermoplastic pipes and fittings of which the sof-
tening speed changes rapidly, but not applicable to crystalline or semi-crystalline plas-
tics pipes and fittings.
NOTE 1 Applicable thermoplastics pipes and fittings are such as unplasticized
polyvinyl chloride pipes and fittings.
