Scope
WARNING—Personnel applying this standard should have practical experience in formal laboratory work. This section does not address all possible security issues. It is the user's responsibility to take appropriate safety and health measures and comply with the conditions stipulated by the relevant national laws and regulations. This part specifies the method for the determination of trace amounts of lead, antimony, bismuth and iron in gold and gold alloys, silver and silver alloys and palladium alloys by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). This part applies to the determination of trace amounts of lead, antimony, bismuth and iron in gold and gold alloys, silver and silver alloys, and palladium alloys. See Table 1 and Table 2 for grades and ingredients, and Table 3 for the measurement range.
