This standard specifies the basic requirements, operating procedures and result determination for rapid commercial sterility testing of canned foods. This standard applies to various sealed packages of edible fungi, fruits, vegetables and commercial sterile canned beverages, which have been commercially sterilized after moderate heat sterilization and can be stored for a long time at room temperature. Other canned foods can be tested according to this method.
