Scope

1.1 This part of GB/T 20417 specifies the nomenclature system for acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) thermoplastic materials. This system can be used as a basis for classification. 1.2 Different types of ABS thermoplastic materials are distinguished by a classification system based on the values of the following specified characteristic properties and recommended uses and (or) processing methods, important properties, additives, colorants, fillers and reinforcing materials: a) Vicat softening temperature; b) melt mass flow rate; c) notched Charpy impact strength; d) tensile modulus of elasticity. 1.3 This part applies to acrylonitrile- Butadiene-styrene material. This section applies to materials that are conventionally in the form of powders, granules or crumbs, unmodified or modified by colorants, additives, fillers, etc. This part does not apply to the following materials: - whose Charpy impact strength is less than 3KJ/m²; - in the elastomer of the elastic phase, the mass fraction of butadiene is less than 50%; - in the continuous phase Among them, the mass fraction of acrylonitrile is less than 15%. 1.4 This section does not imply that materials with the same name must have the same properties. This section does not provide engineering data, performance data, or processing condition data necessary to describe specific uses and/or processing methods for the material. If necessary, these additional properties can be determined according to the test methods specified in Part 2 of this standard. 1.5 In order to explain the special use of a certain ABS material or to ensure the reproducibility of processing, additional requirements can be given in character group 5.
