- This standard specifies the terminology, sample preparation, test equipment and fixtures, test procedures, result calculation and report content, etc. of the shear strength test of the automobile brake pad (shoe) assembly. This standard applies to the determination of the shear strength of integrally molded or bonded automotive disc brake pad assemblies and drum brake shoe assemblies. This standard applies to the determination of the shear strength of riveted automobile brake block (shoe) assemblies.
