Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the coefficient of linear expansion of plastics at -30°C to 30°C with a quartz dilatometer. This standard is applicable to the determination of the linear expansion coefficient of plastic materials with a linear expansion coefficient greater than 1×10-6-1 using a quartz dilatometer. This standard is not applicable to materials with very low coefficient of linear expansion (less than 1×10-6-1). For materials with a low coefficient of expansion, interferometric or capacitive techniques are recommended.
