Scope: 1.1 This standard specifies the method for determining the indentation hardness of plastics and hard rubber with two types of durometers, among which type A is used for soft materials and type D is used for hard materials (see note in 8.2). This method can measure the initial indentation hardness or the indentation hardness after a specified time or both. 1.2 This standard is used as a test method for quality control, and the corresponding relationship between the measured indentation hardness and the basic properties of the tested material. It is recommended to use GB/T 6031-1998 "Determination of Hardness of Vulcanized Rubber (10 IRHD～100 IRHD)" for soft materials.
