Scope: This standard specifies the principle, sample, test solution and material, test device, test conditions and procedures, test result calculation and test report for the determination of tin coating on cold-rolled electro-tinned steel sheets by volumetric and coulometric methods. Appendix A gives the fluorescent X-ray measurement method for the amount of tin plating. This standard is applicable to the determination of the tin coating amount of cold-rolled tin-plated steel sheets. The effective measurement range of this standard is 0.5g/m²～20g/m²; the repeatability is 0.1g/m². The test method in this standard is suitable for calibrating other test methods for tin plating.
