Scope

This standard specifies the generation of random numbers and the method of sampling using random numbers. This standard applies to the extraction of random samples for the quality sampling inspection of discrete individual products, and can also be used for the extraction of random samples in survey sampling. This standard does not apply to sample selection for quality sampling inspection of bulk products.
