Scope

This standard applies to low voltage power distribution systems. This specification specifies the test method for aberrancy breakdown diodes (hereinafter referred to as ABD) of surge protection device elements (hereinafter referred to as SPDC) used in the design and configuration of surge protection devices connected to transmission and signal lines. The test specifications in this standard are for a single ABD consisting of two terminals.
