Scope

This part specifies the test methods for the determination of hydroxyl compound content in organic chemical products: spectrophotometric method and volumetric method. This section applies to the determination of the content of hydroxyl compounds in water-soluble and alcohol-soluble organic chemical products. The spectrophotometric method is suitable for the determination of samples with a mass fraction of hydroxyl compounds lower than or equal to 0.01%, and the volumetric method is suitable for the determination of samples with a mass fraction of hydroxyl compounds higher than 0.01%.
