Scope: This standard specifies the determination methods of total active substance content, unsulfated substance content and average relative molecular mass in sodium ethoxylated alkyl sulfate. This standard applies to the determination of sodium ethoxylated alkyl sulfate. The method for the determination of total active matter in this standard is also applicable to the determination of total active matter of ethoxylated alkylphenol sodium sulfate, which includes organic matter soluble in ethanol: sodium ethoxylated alkylphenol sulfate (or ethoxylated sodium alkylphenol sulfate), polyethylene glycol sulfate and non-ionic components; the method for determining the average relative molecular mass is applicable to ethoxylated alkylsulfates with not more than 20 oxyethylene groups per molecule sodium products.
