Scope: This standard specifies two test methods A and B for the compression rate and springback rate of gaskets used for pipe flanges. Test method A is applicable to asbestos rubber gaskets, non-asbestos rubber gaskets, PTFE gaskets, expanded or modified PTFE gaskets, flexible graphite composite gaskets, etc. Test method B is applicable to wound gaskets, PTFE coated gaskets, serrated metal, corrugated metal and corrugated metal gaskets with non-metallic covering, etc. This method is also applicable to the gasket used in test method A, and metal flat gaskets can also be carried out with reference to this method.
