- This standard specifies the method overview, test preparation, test procedure, quality assurance and quality control, data and report of chemical activated sludge respiration inhibition test. This standard applies to most water-soluble, low-volatility, and easily stranded substances in water; it does not apply to substances that may undergo phosphorylation and decompose under the action of oxygen. For test substances of limited water solubility, it may not be possible to determine the half-effect concentration. This standard provides a rapid screening method to identify which substances may have adverse effects on aerobic microorganisms in sewage treatment plants, and provide corresponding non-inhibitory test substance concentrations for biodegradation tests.
