This standard applies to rail systems that use two-pole or multi-pole conductors to connect lamps to the power supply, including rail systems with grounding devices (Class I), the rated current of each conductor does not exceed 16A, and the rated voltage between poles does not exceed 440V. Or a rail system that does not provide grounding (category III), the rated current of each conductor does not exceed 25A, and the rated safety extra-low voltage does not exceed 25V. The rail system can provide the mechanical support of the luminaire. This standard applies to guide rail systems designed for ordinary indoor use, where the guide rails are installed, or recessed, or suspended from walls and ceilings. These rail systems are not intended for use where special conditions are often present, such as ships, automobiles, etc., nor are they intended for use in harsh locations, such as hazardous locations where explosions may occur. This standard should be used together with the referenced standard GB 7000.1.
