This standard specifies the eddy current flaw detection method for copper and copper alloy circular seamless pipes (hereinafter referred to as pipes). This standard applies to the eddy current testing of straight and coiled pipes with an outer diameter of Φ3mm to 160mm and a wall thickness of 0.20mm to 6.0mm. This standard applies to the through-type eddy current flaw detection method and the rotary eddy current flaw detection method. The types of defects detected in this standard are mainly defects caused by metallurgical and mechanical processing that destroy the continuity of metal such as cracks, inclusions, peeling, and bruises of pipes.
