Scope: This standard specifies the method for the determination of total carbon in carbides and cemented carbides. This standard applies to carbides of chromium, hafnium, molybdenum, niobium, tantalum, titanium, vanadium, tungsten and zirconium, their mixtures with binder metals (without lubricants), and all grades of carbides produced from these carbides. Determination of total carbon in pre-sintered or sintered cemented carbide. Measuring range: the total carbon content is greater than 4%.
