This standard specifies the potentiometric titration method for determining the bromine index of industrial aromatic hydrocarbons. This standard is applicable to aromatic hydrocarbon samples containing trace amounts of olefins with a final boiling point lower than 288°C. The sample should not contain components lighter than isobutane. The measurement range of bromine index is 0mgBr/100g~500mgBr/100g. This standard is not intended to address all safety issues related to its use. Therefore, users are responsible for taking appropriate safety and health measures and ensuring compliance with relevant national regulations.
