- 1.1 This standard specifies the method for determining the molybdenum content in lubricating oils and additives using atomic absorption spectrometry. 1.2 This standard applies to molybdenum (IV) sulfide additives and mineral oils and synthetic oils containing molybdenum (IV) sulfide additives. 1.3 This standard uses International System of Units (SI) units. 1.4 This standard covers certain hazardous materials, operations and equipment, but does not make recommendations on all safety issues related to these. Therefore, it is necessary for users to establish appropriate safety and protective measures and determine the corresponding management system before using this standard.
