Scope
This standard specifies the method for the determination of antirust performance of mineral oil with inhibitors in the presence of water. This standard is suitable for evaluating the antirust ability of mineral oils with inhibitors, especially steam turbine oils on iron parts when mixed with water. It is also suitable for hydraulic oils, circulating oils and other oils and liquids with a higher density than water. This standard involves some hazardous materials, operations and equipment, but does not make recommendations on all safety issues. Therefore, users should establish appropriate safety precautions and formulate corresponding management systems before using this standard.
