After disintegration of the mineral with peroxide and sodium carbonate, the molten mass is leached with water, the residue containing all the calcium and magnesium is separated and, after separation from the silica and the iron and aluminum hydrates, the lime is determined for volumetric route by precipitation with ammonium oxalate and titration with permanganate, and magnesia in the filtrate of calcium oxalate by weight route by precipitation of magnesium as ammonium-magnesium phosphate, which is transformed by calcination into magnesium pyrophosphate.
