- This unification concerns the method for measuring the local thickness of electrolytic coatings, based on the time necessary to obtain perforation, by dripping a corrosive solution. 2 - The method indicated in this unification is used for measuring the thickness of simple lead, zinc and cadmium coatings on steel, provided that the latter two have not been subjected to a passivation treatment. 3 - The method is applicable when the measured value, compared with the results obtained with the micrographic method according to UNI 4237, does not deviate to a greater extent than that specified in point 13.
