This standard describes a method for the determination of total sulfur in petroleum products. The method can be applied to products with sulfur contents from 1 to 50 000 mg/kg and is particularly suitable for distillates whose total sulfur content is less than 300 mg/kg. Viscous, strongly aromatic or high sulfur samples can be previously diluted with a solvent.
