UNI 4634-1960 Classification and identification of soldering irons. Soldering irons for welding medium-thickness and thick mild or low-alloy steel plates
This unification aims to provide a classification of welder workers who must carry out manual arc welding, with basic, acid or rutile coated electrodes on medium and thick (^ 4mm) mild steel and low content steel sheets. of alloying elements, and the methods of carrying out and evaluating the relevant qualification tests. This classification is valid for the welding of constructions in which only sheets or sheets and profiles are used; however, it does not apply to the welding of pipes for the passage of fluids or to those parts of tubular constructions in which welding poses the same problems. Passing these tests does not exclude that the welder must be expressly trained for particular jobs, nor does it exclude the possible carrying out of adequate tests in these cases.
