UNI 6456-1969 Chemical analysis of ferrous materials. Determination of hardened carbon and graphite in steel and pig iron. By flow oxycombustion gravimetry and gas volume measurement, replacing UNI 3190
1 This unification describes a gravimetric determination method and a gas-volumetric determination method of quenching carbon and graphite in steels and cast irons, by combustion of the sample taken in an oxygen stream. 2 The method is applicable for graphitic carbon contents greater than or equal to - 0.05%, if the determination is made with the gravimetric method;
——0.10%. If the determination is made with the gas-volumetric method.
