Scope

The carbonates contained in the mineral are decomposed with sulfuric acid and the carbon dioxide is collected, which develops on soda lime or rather on ascarite (asbestos impregnated with caustic soda). The weight gain gives the carbon dioxide content. Equipment. Method. Calculation.
