This standardization describes a method for the alkalimetric determination of phosphorus in steels and cast irons. 2 The method is applicable for phosphorus contents greater than or equal to 0.015%, provided that there are no contents greater than 3% of chromium, 3% of nickel, 0.10% of vanadium and 0.3% of titanium. 3 Special cases Steels and cast irons with vanadium contents greater than 0.10%.
