Scope: The purpose of this unification is to determine the variation in the resistance and elongation at break and in the apparent modulus of an elastic thread treated for a certain period of time in hot air, at a fixed temperature, at atmospheric pressure. 2 The change is expressed as a percentage change in the similar characteristics measured before treatment. The extent of said variation is indicative, for comparison purposes only, of the resistance to natural aging of the elastic threads and does not constitute an absolute criterion for judging said resistance, which in practice is linked to various factors that are difficult to define and control.
