This standard concerns the non-destructive testing using ultrasound for the search for discontinuities in the welding1) of submerged arc welded steel tubes with a thickness no greater than 20 mm. The weld check must be carried out on pipes with the severity class and in the state required by the product specifications. An extension of the field of application of this standard can take place with the particular conditions specified in points A1 and A2.
