This unification concerns the tensile test on lengths of pipe or on longitudinal strips 0, cut from steel pipes and having the total thickness of the pipe. The test on longitudinal strips is not, however, usual for pipe thicknesses less than 0.5 mm. When the tests instead involve completely machined test pieces, these test pieces must have the shape indicated in UNI 556 (2nd Ed.) and be tested in accordance with the requirements of said unification, with the exception of the test speed which must comply with what is indicated in point 5.1 . of the present unification.
