This standard establishes the optical and geometric characteristics of the devices for measuring the reflectometric index of paper, cardboard and fibrous and non-fibrous raw materials and the procedures to be followed for the calibration of said devices. 2 Reflectometric index measurements can be used for the evaluation of a large group of optical properties. According to the property to be measured, the global spectral characteristics of the device, the conditions relating to the test piece to be measured and the method of calculating the numerical values are modified, as specified in the particular methods relating to the individual optical properties.
