The method is applicable to the determination of free water and water of crystallization in most organic and inorganic products, solid or liquid. If special methods are necessary for some products, they will be indicated in the unifications relating to the analysis methods of the individual products. 2 Two titration methods are described, depending on whether the end point of the reaction is detected by observing a color change (visual procedure) or by electrometry. The visual procedure is used for the analysis of non-coloured solutions, when electrometric equipment is not available and it is always a direct titration. The electrometric procedure, however, can be applied to both direct and indirect (return) titration. Electrometric titration, direct or return, is the most precise and this is the reason why it is recommended. YOU HATE
