UNI 7408-1975 Elastomeric materials; testing of raw and vulcanized materials, identification of mixed elastomeric materials containing single elastomers by gas chromatography
The method is applicable to all raw elastomers and to all raw or vulcanized rubber mixtures containing only one of the following elastomers:
——polyisoprene;
——butadiene-styrene copolymer;
——polybutadiene:
——polychloroprene;
——butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymers;
——ethylene-propylene copolymers and related terpolymers;
——isobutylene-isoprene copolymers. The method does not allow distinguishing between them:
——natural rubber and synthetic polyisoprene;
——butadiene-styrene copolymers copolymerized in solution and in emulsion; however, in some cases, polymers with significantly different styrene contents can be distinguished from each other;
——polybutadiene with different isomer ratios;
——different types of polychloroprene;
——butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymers with different monomer ratios;
——ethylene-propylene copolymers with different monomer ratios and the copolymers themselves from the related terpolymers;
——isobutylene-isoprene copolymers and corresponding halogenated copolymers.
