Scope
It agrees with the CEI 10-60 standard of the European Committee of Associations of Paint and Printing Ink Manufacturers. By fastness of an ink to waxes and paraffins, we mean the fastness of a sample print, examined according to UNI 5780 and prepared according to UNI 5772. By fastness to impregnation with waxes and paraffins of the prints we mean their resistance to waxes and paraffins used for the test. A print is considered to be solid upon impregnation with the waxes or paraffins in question, when it has undergone only a negligible alteration in the test conditions, any modifications not being attributable to alteration of the support and when the drips coming from the sample are not colored . The print is immersed in the molten wax (or molten paraffin) being tested and is then detached. The alterations in the print and the coloring taken from the drips due to dripping are then judged. At a relatively high temperature the prints can undergo alterations which do not depend directly on the wax or paraffin, but rather on the action of the temperature. Procedure and evaluation. Equipment and reagents.
