It establishes the colorimetric characteristics of a series of inks intended for three-colour and four-colour offset printing, according to a printing sequence to be specified. These colorimetric characteristics correspond to those of UNI 6812-71 relating to typography inks. From a practical point of view, the availability of a series of colorimetrically defined inks offers the following advantages: it allows photoreproducers to prepare correct selection photographic transparencies with respect to a series of inks with constant colorimetric characteristics so that the other selection transparencies, even if of different origins, can be combined in the same form of printing; allows photoreproducers and printers to always find series of inks with constant colorimetric characteristics regardless of their origin. It is not applicable to fluorescent inks.
