Scope

1-This unification indicates the procedure for determining the apparent density of unpressed molding materials, i.e. the mass per unit volume. It applies to molding materials that can flow freely from a funnel of suitable shape. 2- When this process is applied to materials that are made up of relatively large granules, very variable results can be obtained due to the error made by shaving the part top of the cylinder with a spatula. 4-Knowledge of the apparent density can be used to compare the contraction and expansion of molding materials only when the density values of the latter, after moulding, are also approximately the same.
