This part of SS 11 describes a method for the determination of the various alkaline constituents (including soaps) dissolved in fats.
Fats may contain alkaline constituents either naturally (e.g. calcium soap in bone fat) or accidentally (e.g. sodium soap in imperfectly refined fats). The method described in this part does not distinguish between the various alkaline constituents.
